Tottenham new signing can be as good as Ozil

Mesut Ozil may have taken all the plaudits after his stunning debut at Sunderland over the weekend, but former Tottenham player Sebastian Bassong believes that the White Hart Lane outfit may have unearthed their own version of the German playmaker in Christian Eriksen.

The diminutive Danish playmaker, signed for just £11.5M from Ajax, was the star of the show on Saturday as spurs ran out 2:0 victors over Norwich city.

Despite signing somewhat under the radar and with very little fanfare, Bassong- now Norwich captain- is of the opinion that his former club may have bagged themselves a real bargain this season.

The Cameroonian, having witnessed first-hand what Eriksen is capable of, said,

Ozil must be one of the best number 10s in the world. He is a fantastic player, and Eriksen is not far from him.

Ozil is more famous, he has played for real Madrid and has loads of games under his belt.

“But I think Eriksen is a player I really like, the way he moves”, he added.
