You won’t believe which team in the EPL has the most expensive tickets!!

According to a survey done by the BBC, the average price of season tickets across all premier league clubs has fallen by 2.4%. What comes as a surprise, however, is the fact that Arsenal’s Emirates stadium is the most costly venue from where to watch football.

Supporters wishing to watch the gunners’ home games will be set back up to £126 each matchday. Those wishing to buy season tickets will require between £985 and £1955.

Considering Arsene Wenger’s frugal ways, it is a bit strange that his team are the most expensive to watch in England. Ozil aside, Arsenal rarely spend money in the transfer market, and their wages are meager compared to other top clubs.
Chelsea's most expensive matchday tickets, for instance, cost £87-placing them second on the costliest matchday tickets list.

Tottenham have the second most expensive season tickets in the EPL at £1895.

Why Victor Moses is Liverpool’s most important signing this season

Liverpool has recruited wisely this summer, strengthening in all their problem positions of last season. No longer able to attract genuine world-class performers, due to their continued absence in the Champions league, the Merseyside outfit has been forced to delve into the bargain market for new signings.

Despite the big-money additions of this summer, it is Moses - signed on a season-long loan from Chelsea - that might turn out to be their most valuable acquisition.

Apart from the obvious contribution to squad depth, the Nigerian offers something that none of the attackers currently on Liverpool books possess- pace, power and directness.

Anybody who watched Manchester United’s loss at Anfield last month would have noticed how easily Coutinho, Iago Aspas and Sterling were being constantly outmuscled off the ball by Valencia and Evra.

With his stocky frame, Moses is not easy to bully, and will give as much as he gets from most premiership fullbacks. This asset will prove vital in games where technical little players like Coutinho tend to be shunted off games by overly physical fullbacks.

He is also better at tracking back than any option Liverpool currently have on the wings, and proved last season -during Chelsea's run in the Europa league- that given a decent run in the first-team he is more than capable of scoring goals.

Despite very little optimism and fanfare surrounding his signing, Victor Moses could turn out to be Liverpool's best bit of business this season.

Which arsenal opponent in the Champions League this season is faster than Usain Bolt?

Arsenal have their work cut out for them in the Champions League this season; not only are they in the much-vaunted ‘group of death’, but they are also in line to come up against a player who can outsprint Usain Bolt in the first 30 meters.
Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the fastest players in the modern game.

Signed from St Etienne this summer, the 24-year old was timed running faster than the legendary Jamaican. The Gabon international clocked just 3.7 seconds over 30 meters ,while training with the German giants in Switzerland during preseason - almost one second faster than Bolt in his stunning 100m dash in Berlin in 2009.

He fits Dortmund’s counterattacking style like a glove, and if Arsenal harbor any ambitions of progressing past the Champions’ League group stages, then they would do worse than keeping a keen eye on him.

What should Chelsea do with their £30M–rated youngster?

Chelsea have a very delicate situation on their hands; what to do with one of their best young prospects currently out on loan. Thibaut Courtois was signed by the blues from Genk for £7M in the summer of 2011before being immediately farmed out on loan to Athletico Madrid, where he has been for the last two seasons.

The young Belgian took La Liga by storm winning the Zamora trophy, awarded to the best keeper in the league, in his first season. So stellar have been his performances that he is now a reported £30M target for Barcelona.

With Petr Cech in top form and still only 31, considering goalkeepers can play well into their forties, the chances of Courtois gracing the Stamford bridge turf at present are very slim.

This leaves Chelsea in a sticky situation; should they cash in on a prospective future best keeper in the world or should they replace Cech- one of the best in the business at present- with a promising starlet.

Another option would be to keep sending the Belgium No.1 on loan until Cech’s form dips, but having never renewed the 5-year deal that he signed when he arrived at Chelsea, there is a real concern that Courtois - now on his third loan spell at Athletico - may leave permanently without ever kicking a ball for the west London club.

What has happened to Anderson at Manchester United?

When he made his £20M switch to old Trafford in 2007, great expectations were placed on this young man’s shoulders and he was destined for the very top, but what exactly has happened to Anderson to make him fail to live up to the immense promise he showed at Porto?

Although injuries are largely to blame for an Anderson’s indifferent careerindifferent career with the red devils, he can’t claim to not have been given a fair chance to cement his place in United’s midfield.

After an impressive start to his Manchester United career, injuries and inconsistent form have restricted him to just 124 starts in six years, in the process costing him his place in the Brazilian squad.

It’s not just Anderson that’s to be faulted for his plight at Old Trafford; Sir Alex Ferguson should shoulder some of the blame. During his successful stints at Gremio and Porto, the Brazilian was deployed largely in an advanced midfield position, where he seems most comfortable.

At united, however, Ferguson-impressed by his wide passing range and tackling- pulled him further back into holding midfield in order to fit into his 4-4-2 system.

Even though he seems competent enough for united in that role, his natural attacking instincts tend to leave united vulnerable in midfield.

Anderson is still only 25 and with the world cup being staged in his home country next year, he has all the motivation in the world to prove the old adage that, while form is temporary class is permanent.

3 reasons why Moyes was right to hang onto Nani

Nani is one of those players who tends to greatly divide opinion amongst football fans, and that’s why there were mixed reactions when Manchester United decided to offer him a new 5-year deal.

Much-maligned under Ferguson, to the point of being flogged all over Europe last summer, the Portuguese winger has suddenly found himself with a new lease of life under Moyes at Old Trafford.

Nani is still a class-act

Though at times very irritating with his decision-making, he is still a very good player, who can be unplayable on his day.

As much as every football player needs confidence and game-time to thrive, the 26-year old is one of those whose performance levels dip drastically when starved of minutes.

Ferguson clearly didn’t fancy him, and this must have hit the Portugal international’s self-belief hard. Moyes, however, seems to rate the player highly, and fingers crossed, the Nani of 2010 might just turn up this season.

Manchester united missed their major transfer targets

It’s been an open secret, for quite some time now, that the red devils are badly in need of a creative force capable of unlocking the tightest of defences. This was evident by United’s summer pursuit of attacking midfielders.

Although Fellaini is a very talented player, he doesn’t have the craft of say, a Fabregas or Thiago Alcantara for that matter. He more of adds steel to the United midfield.

With the retention of Nani, the Manchester giants have given themselves an extra option to fill the problem position.

He is better than Young

Another reason why Moyes was right to retain Nani is because he is better than some of the options Manchester United currently have on the wings.

Even though Zaha has bags of potential, he is still very raw and would require at least a couple of seasons before he can become the player we all expect him to be.

While Valencia might be more consistent, there is no way Ashley Young is better than Nani!

Two reasons why Chelsea are suffering

Mourinho’s second coming hasn’t really begun the way many had envisaged. After dismantling Hull city on opening day, Chelsea have flattered to deceive since then.

Lucky to beat Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge later that week, the blues have now gone four straight games without a win.

It’s too early to sound out the alarm bells, but why are Chelsea not performing? The club’s most successful manager is back, and armed with a mouth-watering squad to boot.

The blues’ current travails can be traced back to the just-concluded transfer window. Sure, Willian, Schwarzer, Schurrle, Eto’o and Van Ginkel are very good squad additions, but were they what the West Londoners urgently needed?

Let’s look at two shortcomings in the transfer market that have come back to haunt Mourinho.

Failure to sign a top-notch striker

With Demba Ba and Fernando Torres having picked up from where they left off in the league last season, the number of chances created by Chelsea playmakers are still crying out for someone to take them.

Samuel Eto’o’s record in European football speaks for itself. However, the blues seem to have got their man four years late. Though still a decent finisher, the Cameroonian’s pace and acceleration - that made him such a feared striker - have long gone.

He may well end up with goals at the end of the season but his acquisition was a real gamble, and Mourinho should have pulled out all the stops to get a guaranteed goal-scorer like Cavani or Falcao instead. Rooney’s pursuit was always going to end in failure.

Failure to bring in a world-class defensive midfielder

Had Mourinho succeeded in his attempts to lure Danielle de Rossi from Roma in the summer, the story might have been very different.

It’s not that Chelsea don’t have enough defensive midfield options, just that what they have at the moment, apart from Ramires, are not good enough for various reasons.

Mikel is inconsistent, Lampard is not a DM, Van GInkel is still raw at this level and Essien is out of favor and/ or past it.

During the Portuguese manager’s trophy-laden first spell in charge, he had the legendary Claude Makelele and a youthful Essien to call upon. This pair was arguably the best in the business then.

He should have repeated the trick this summer by signing a world-class partner for Ramires. Yes, De Rossi may be Roma through and through, but what about Khedira, Vidal and even Lars Bender?

Tottenham new signing can be as good as Ozil

Mesut Ozil may have taken all the plaudits after his stunning debut at Sunderland over the weekend, but former Tottenham player Sebastian Bassong believes that the White Hart Lane outfit may have unearthed their own version of the German playmaker in Christian Eriksen.

The diminutive Danish playmaker, signed for just £11.5M from Ajax, was the star of the show on Saturday as spurs ran out 2:0 victors over Norwich city.

Despite signing somewhat under the radar and with very little fanfare, Bassong- now Norwich captain- is of the opinion that his former club may have bagged themselves a real bargain this season.

The Cameroonian, having witnessed first-hand what Eriksen is capable of, said,

Ozil must be one of the best number 10s in the world. He is a fantastic player, and Eriksen is not far from him.

Ozil is more famous, he has played for real Madrid and has loads of games under his belt.

“But I think Eriksen is a player I really like, the way he moves”, he added.

Top 5: Chelsea players on loan most likely to break into the first team next season

With Chelsea FC widely accused of wasting young talents, let’s take a look at the five starlets on loan this season with the best chance of breaking into the blues’ first 11 next season.

Nathaniel Chalobah

The Sierra Leone-born starlet is widely expected to be loaned out again to the championship this season when the loan window opens, with Watford,Nottingham Forest and Wigan showing the most interest.

The England under-21 international hugely impressed while on loan at Watford last season -leading the hornets to the championship play-offs, scoring five goals in the process.

Romelu Lukaku

Many fans were left baffled by Mourinho’s decision to send out ‘the new Drogba’ to Everton on a season-long loan.

After a hugely successful loan spell at WBA last season, where he plundered 17 goals in 20 starts, many expected Lukaku to lead the line at Chelsea this season especially with Torres and Ba misfiring badly in front of goal.

Thibaut Courtois

At the tender age of just 21, the Belgian starlet -on his third loan spell at Athletico Madrid- is already considered one of the top goalkeepers in the world, and had it not been for the imperious consistent form of Petr Cech, he would surely be the No.1 at Stamford Bridge this season.

Oriol Romeu

After a promising start to his Chelsea career under Andre Villas-boas and later Benitez, the young Spaniard’s development was hampered by a serious knee injury that ruled him out for the majority of last season.

He has been farmed out to Valencia and if he can regain full fitness and form, he should be able to nail down a spot in Chelsea’s midfield in the near future.

Christian Atsu

Signed with very little fanfare from FC Porto this summer, Christian Atsu was immediately loaned out to Vitesse Arnheim in the Dutch league.

With the embarrassment of riches Chelsea currently have in the advanced midfield positions, Atsu wasn’t going to see much first-team football this season and hence the loan.

Blessed with frightening pace, expect Atsu to grace the Stamford bridge turf for years to come.

Predicting Arsenal’s strongest starting line-up featuring Ozil

With the big-money purchase of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid, arsenal fans around the globe would be forgiven for salivating at the prospect of the German international linking up with the likes of Cazorla, Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere, Walcott, Rosicky, Ramsey, Podolski and the much-improved Olivier Giroud.

However, with the huge array of talent available to pick from, comes the inevitable selection headache for the manager-not that Arsene Wenger would mind anyway.

In this article we will try to look at how the gunners could line up this season with Ozil’s capture.

We will work with the assumption that Arsenal will deploy the 4-2-3-1 formation that has served them well up to this point.

Barring injury and sudden loss of form and based upon evidence so far this season, Sczesny, Merteserker, Koscielny, Sagna and Gibbs should form the back five for the gunners.

Once fully fit, Arteta will most probably join Wilshere in the two midfield positions in front of the defence, at the expense of Ramsey, with Ozil occupying the free role behind GIroud.

Walcott will certainly get the nod on the right wing with Cazorla on the opposite flank, just edging out Podolski and the Ox. So, here’s the full Arsenal line-up that should be strong enough to challenge the best in Europe.

                 Sczesny

  Sagna - Koscielny - Merteserker - Gibbs

                   Wilshere - Arteta

              Walcott - Ozil - Cazorla

                           GIroud

Mesut Ozil: real reason why he snubbed Manchester United for Arsenal

Amid reported interest from Manchester United, Mesut Ozil opted to make the switch to North London instead.

According to claims made by Real Madrid gaffer, Carlo Ancelotti, the German playmaker insisted on completing his deadline-day £42.5M switch to Arsenal, because he wasn't prepared to face the stiff competition for places at the Spanish capital.

As per the Daily Star Ancelotti said “I've heard a lot of people talk about the departure of Ozil and now its my turn to talk.

“Nobody leaves Madrid if they don't want to.

Ozil thought he had a lot of competition for places and asked to leave. It doesn't happen to everyone.

“The coaching staff's decision was to let Ozil leave.

“ We received a good bid and everyone was satisfied”

With the summer acquisitions of Gareth Bale and Isco, Ozil would be forgiven for having genuine concerns about the amount of game-time he would receive at Real, in a season culminating in a world cup in Brazil.

Manchester United to make history in the Champions League this season

Manchester united are bound to make history tomorrow night when they take on Bayer Leverkusen, by becoming the first club to have featured in all 19 campaigns since the European cup was changed to its current format.

United will have featured in one more champions league campaign than the trio of Porto, Real Madrid and Barcelona who will each have participated in 18 campaigns.

Tomorrow night will also mark the first time someone other than Sir Alex has led out Manchester United in Europe since the mid-eighties.

David Moyes’ men have been pitted against Real Sociedad, Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayer Leverkusen in Group A.

Is Shinji Kagawa surplus to requirements at Old Trafford?

Much was expected of Shinji Kagawa when he made the switch from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester united for £17 million one year ago. He was the missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle, the sort of creativity United’s midfield was crying out for.

Twelve months down the line however, and the Japan international would be forgiven for feeling disillusioned at the theater of dreams. So when did the rain start beating the 24-year old?

Having been a bit-part player under Sir Alex Ferguson last season, Shinji Kagawa now finds himself in real danger of being completely ignored by the new manager.

Whether this will change during the course of the season remains to be seen, but early indications point to the former Dortmund player of the year struggling to get games under Moyes.

Kagawa has not featured for the red devils in any of the three premier league games played so far this season, with Moyes preferring either Rooney or Giggs behind Van Persie.

The diminutive playmaker is also not helped by the acquisition of Maroune Fellaini on transfer deadline day from Everton.

Under Moyes at Goodison Park, the big Belgian was deployed, to devastating effect, in the hole behind the striker, and there is every possibility that he might be required to perform the same role at Old Trafford.

With his former manager, Jurgen Klopp, having failed with a bid to take him back to Germany this summer, Kagawa is left with a big decision to make; whether to warm the bench at united or seek an escape route in January.

Is he really Chelsea’s weak link?

Nobody doubts his talent; the bone of contention has always been with his concentration and positional discipline.

The victim of stinging attacks from a section of pundits, for his flamboyant style of play at the back, has David Luiz really gotten to the point where he can legitimately be classified as a liability to Chelsea FC?

The answer is a resounding NO.

David Luiz may continue to split opinion but there is no doubting the fact that he is a supremely talented footballer the premier league should strive to keep, let alone Chelsea.

Along with being a firm fan-favorite at Stamford Bridge, the 26-year old doesn’t come with the kind of baggage typical with many modern footballers.

The Brazilian is the kind of ball-playing defender you don’t get to see so very often. Blessed with pace and wonderful technical ability, the former Benfica man could so easily slot into attacking midfield. Luiz is probably just a victim of his greatest strength-versatility.

The defensive side of his game is put under unfair intense scrutiny, not because he is a bad defender but rather because some people are obsessed with the misguided idea that he is a better midfielder.

Maybe this stems from the fact that he can score scorchers and thread through balls as good as any.

Not to say that he doesn’t have his downsides, just that his flaws aren’t something that can’t be ironed out, especially with Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

Week in week out, good premier league defenders make mistakes but the media seem to be on a campaign to make sure Luiz is either pushed up or pushed out.

Five reasons why arsenal will finally end their trophy- drought this season

8 seasons and counting, that's how long the gunners have gone without a trophy. Here are five reasons why this ominous trend will most likely end this season.

The acquisition of Mesut Ozil

Already being hailed as the signing of the summer, the young German has given the whole Arsenal fraternity a really huge lift.

Blessed with hawk-eye vision and unbelievable selflessness, the 24-year old will not only take the mantle as Arsenal’s chief playmaker but will also immensely improve those playing around him.

Stability in defence

Arsene Wenger finally seems to have settled on Mertesacker and Koscielny as his first-choice center-half pairing. With the pair having fully got to grips with the frantic pace of the premier league, Arsenal finally seem to have found the perfect balance in central defence.

The form of Olivier Giroud

The Frenchman has started the season like a house on fire, and with Mesut Ozil providing the ammunition for the former Montpellier man, expect Giroud to be among the league’s top scorers come the end of the season.

Arsene Wenger’s changing attitude

The professor finally seems to have abandoned his stubborn ways, as evident by his capture of Ozil. Should he add two more players of the German’s caliber in January the gunners will be a real force in Europe.

Wenger has seemingly also curbed his desire to bed in numerous inexperienced youngsters in the first team all at the same time.

Tough Champions League draw

Arsenal’s group in the Champions league could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. With Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille providing the steepest of challenges, the north London club faces the real prospect of not progressing to the knockout stages.

Should this scenario pan out, the gunners shouldn't be too hard on themselves as they will have more time to focus on more attainable trophies - nobody expects them to win the European cup anyway.

Five players that David Moyes should sell

With the close of the transfer window, clubs are not only left to mull over targets that slipped away but also deadwood that couldn't be offloaded for one reason or another.

The following are five players whose contributions do very little to justify them being on Manchester United’s payroll.

Ashley Young

After starting his old Trafford stint like a man possessed, the England international's career has badly tailed off and he is now nowhere near justifying the reported £17M united paid Aston Villa for him.

The problem with Ashley Young is that he is too predictable and one-dimensional. Opposing fullbacks have come to know what to expect from him- cutting back to his right foot and either crossing or shooting.

He is a decent player, but that’s just about it.

Anderson

For the last four years, the start of each season has been characterized by the belief that the Brazilian is on his last chance saloon as a united player.
Miraculously, he has survived each transfer window and is still picking up a sizable paycheck at Old Trafford.

After arriving from Portugal with the reputation of being one of the world’s best young prospects, Anderson has contributed very little to the United cause for quite some time now, and should without doubt be shifted by Moyes at the slightest opportunity.

Alexander Buttner

A poor reader of the game often caught out of position, the Dutchman doesn’t look cut out for the very top of the game. Though decent enough going forward, Buttner is quite sub-standard in his primary role-defending.

Put simply, he isn’t Manchester united material and should be moved on soonest possible.

Federico Macheda

Big things were expected of the young Italian when he scored the famous winner at villa park four years ago.

However, Macheda’s career has failed to kick-off, and he hasn’t scored a league goal for any of the three clubs- Sampdoria, Qpr and Stuttgart-  he has played for on loan.

Bebe

Many were left dumbfounded when Sir Alex inexplicably decided to splash out £7.4 million on an unproven player he had never watched play.

3 years down the line and the Portuguese flop has hardly had a look-in at Old Trafford and has already been written off as a loss.

Don’t expect Manchester United to recoup much of the money they shelled out for Bebe in 2010.
